Constitution of Maldives

Articles 29 and 61 of the Constitution guarantees the right to information as follows: “29. Everyone has the freedom to acquire and impart knowledge, information and learning. 61.(a) All statutes, regulations, government orders requiring compliance by citizens and government policies shall be published and made available to the public. (c) All information concerning government decisions shall be made public except information that is declared to be State Secrets by a law enacted by the People’s Majlis. (d) Every citizen has the right to obtain all information possessed by the Government about that person.”
