'Access to Information Law' passed by the lower house of Afghan Parliament

Access to Information law was passed by the lower house of Afghan Parliament on 30th June, 2014 adding to another noteworthy achievement in the region. 

 

Habibullah Muqbel (Advocacy Officer) from Integrity Watch Afghanistan (http://www.iwaweb.org/) reports "It is worth mentioning though some of the recommendations from Civil society were included in the final draft but considering the international standards, the current access to information law still needs improvements. The law is now in the upper house of the Afghan parliament  Integrity Watch Afghanistan will continue advocacy in the upper house of the Afghan parliament for further improvements in the current access to information law."
